The venue split into a couple of little levels – there’s a small space downstairs, looking out onto the lane and bustling with chatter. Then there’s the upstairs section, a small yet inviting nook at the top of the stairs, with a view onto the happenings below. There’s also an outside space, for enjoying the sunshine.

The facility can accommodate up to 75 people and offers catering for corporate or private functions. Bistro du Peuple offers a mix of traditional Mauritian meals, contemporary Australian and French cuisines as well as a daily changing selection of soups, sandwiches, burgers and pizza that are all made on premises. To complement this selection of meals and snacks Bistro du Peuple stocks internationally imported beers, wines and liquor.
