Walk through Kittyhawk’s winding entry corridor and be transported to Paris on August 25, 1944. WWII is over. It’s Liberation Day! And what a party that would have been.  Named after the WWII fighter jets of the same name, at Kittyhawk, no detail is spared. From mechanic manual-esque menus to the deep green and brass colour scheme, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time (in the best way possible).  

Kittyhawk is a high-volume cocktail bar with a contemporary French inspired menu. From graze-able cheese plates and charcuterie boards to steak-frites, there’s something to satisfy any hunger. A canapé menu is also available for events. There are a number of event spaces available.

The Conservatory is a sun-filled room at the front of the venue – easily customised for seated or cocktail affairs. It’s semi-private and conveniently located right next to the bar, so you can quickly replenish your cocktail and get back to lazing by the French windows (which can be opened to let in the breeze). This space works well for mingling events, such as birthdays, engagements, networking events and Christmas and EOFY parties, as well as wedding ceremonies and celebrations.

The Lounge is Kittyhawk’s relaxation space. Sit back and relax and let Kittyhawk’s friendly staff do all the work for you. The Lounge is fully serviced and it suitable for seated or cocktail events. There is also the Little Lounge - a small cocktail space that’s available any normal trading night.

For those seeking a more secluded space, The Officers Mess is a totally exclusive room, accessible by your own private lift. You’ll have your own bar, bartender and wait staff (if required) and the room is yours to decorate and customise as you please. You can move the furniture around or remove it completely and hire in your own. The Officers Mess is a very versatile space that suits a variety of events from weddings, engagements and birthdays to corporate parties and team bonding sessions. You name it, we can likely make it work! 

The entire Kittyhawk venue can also be hired out and, if you combine this with The Officers Mess, you have a capacity of 350 across two levels. This is perfect for weddings, where you can have the ceremony one level, then reception on another. Kittyhawk is the perfect one stop venue!

It is conveniently located close to many of Sydney CBD’s most popular destinations and both Martin Place and Circular Quay train stations are within walking distance. Although, if you don’t feel up to the stroll, there’s a taxi rank right outside on Bent Street.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Officers' Mess is an example of a private event space, because it's totally separate from the rest of our patrons. You have your own access, your own bathrooms, your staff members and you can have your own entertainment.
The Conservatory is a semi-private area because, while it can be sectioned off, it is still a part of Kittyhawk main bar so you wouldn't be able to have your own music or any kind of AV gear. The Lounge is a non-exclusive space that is also within main bar and depending on the size of your group and the night of the week, you will most likely share it with other patrons.
Decorations, lighting and AV are not possible within the Conservatory or Lounge, unless you've booked the
whole of Kittyhawk exclusively. Small table decorations may be possible if cleared with your event manager prior to the event. Decorations and AV equipment are allowed in The Officers' Mess. Nothing may be stuck to the walls and all decorations must be removed by you when you leave the venue. Any AV equipment used in the space must adhere to any noise guidelines advised by management on the night. You may use our AV (additional charges may apply) or bring your own (please discuss with us so we can ensure compatibility). In any space, lighting is only possible if not visible from outside the venue (this is per our building regulations).
Minors are always permitted in The Officers' Mess, with prior consent. Minors are only permitted in Kittyhawk main bar before 4pm. This time limit also applies to the Conservatory and the Lounge, unless you have booked Kittyhawk exclusively.
Kittyhawk is located in the courtyard of the Aurora Place building, across the road from Chifley Tower. It is located 5mins walk from Martin Place station and 7mins walk from Circular Quay station. There is also a taxi rank right outside on Bent Street and Ubers
are easy to get from this spot as well. Paid parking can be found at Chifley Tower, the Sofitel Wentworth and on Phillip St (Farrer Place). Street parking is also located on Macquarie St.
Yes, we do allow this however, for all BYO food and beverages, a room hire fee will be applied to your booking. Please provide more info on what you'd like to bring and what we'll need to provide, e.g. staffing, non-alcoholic drinks, cutlery/crockery, etc., and we can provide a quote.
